2026 Scholarship Winners

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community sponsors and golfers who supported us this year, we were able to increase our award to eight scholarships for $2,500 each.

The students selected were not only high achievers academically, but also actively involved in their schools and communities as leaders, volunteers, mentors, or student-athletes.

We could not be prouder to call these students the 2026 Vets Helping Vets Scholarship Winners!  Congratulations to all.

Kaelyn Veltry

Kaelyn is the granddaughter of US Army and Vietnam veteran Thomas Veltry.  Kaelyn is a graduate of Peabody Memorial High School where she was valedictorian, graduating second in her class. Kaelyn will be attending Harvard University majoring in Political Science, with her eventual sights on law school.

Ryan Urbanowicz

Ryan is the grandson of Richard Urbanowicz, a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and a retired Salem police detective. He is a graduate of St. Mary’s in Lynn and will be attending St. Anselm College majoring in Political Science.  His future goals are a master’s degree in public policy.

Ryan Everett

Ryan is the grandson of US Army Vietnam veteran Michael Everett. He is a graduate of Beverly High School, graduating in the top ¼ of his class, and was co-captain of the hockey team.  He will be attending Merrimack College, majoring in Construction Management.

Madison Smith-Miller

Madison is the daughter of US Marine veteran Daniel Miller.  She is a graduate of Marblehead High School and is currently attending Providence College, majoring in Health Policy and Management.  Madison is a second-year winner of a Vets Helping Vets Scholarship.

Also receiving a $2500 scholarship, but unable to attend this year’s award presentation were:

Tyler Desmond

Tyler is the son of Matthew Desmond, a US Navy veteran and recently retired Salem Police Lieutenant. Tyler is a graduate of St. Mary’s in Lynn, was class president in his sophomore, junior and senior years, and a member of the National Honor Society. Tyler will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a pre-health focus.

Olivia St. Pierre

Olivia is the granddaughter of US Marine and Vietnam veteran Robert St. Pierre. She graduated in the top ten per cent of her class at Danvers High School and will be attending Columbia University, majoring in Political Science and Economics, with a pre-law track. At Columbia she is also a division one soccer player.

Katelynne Larochelle

Katelynne is the granddaughter of US Navy veteran Louis Curcio.  She is a graduate of Beverly High School and will be attending La Salle University in the Forensic Science Program.

Adriana Soares

Adriana is the daughter of US Air Force veteran John Soares, Jr. She is a graduate of Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School and is attending North Carolina State University. Adriana will be majoring in the Animal Science, pre-Veterinary program.
